Pip

Pip

This is my favorite painting by a mile! It’s not because I am the greatest artist or for any other action that I took to create it. I am simply head over heels with the subject. Lol.

I think Pip is a sweet and beautifully colored piece of whimsy that makes me happy to look at.

3 years ago I picked up my first canvas, paint and brushes. I have never had a painting lesson of any kind...ever and at 47 I had been disabled and fighting late stage rare ovarian cancer and I was bored and lonely and wishing I could handle going back to work.

Creating has given me peace and a way to keep my mind active. Now 50 years old and fighting a 3rd go-around ...painting is Gods gift.

Without art instructions at a younger age I struggle sometimes to research the answer and then complete it on my canvas but this guy came out joyfully, easily and I swear he painted himself!

I had no idea that I had painted all night until I looked up. I hope that I have more of these perfect storms of creativity.

I would like to know how you guys see it and what technique could I learn to be better.

Thank you
Rhonda

Paint on! NEW
by: Dianne D.

How something so joyful like "Pip" can come out of a struggle from fighting cancer with all its physical and emotional pain is amazing, and indeed like you said, a gift from God. Thank you for sharing your art and story!

I love that you got lost in this piece. There is magic in this dance with paint, and magic in being conscious enough to enjoy it. 🙂💜
