Paradise Blooming

Paradise Blooming

I love the Bird of Paradise. I have been wanting to paint them for quite a while. I finally got down to it when I came down with the flu :(

Feeling much better the last couple of days so I got back to it. I take my camera with me everywhere I go, so I took lots of pictures of the flower. They are such an interesting plant, firm leaves, delicate yet structured flowers.

The colors are fascinating to me. Anyway, I had fun painting them.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Captured well. NEW

I like the way you have captured the Bird of Paradise and the leaves. I can understand the fascination of people liking them. I have them growing in my yard and it's about time I had another go at painting them. My very first painting was of this subject. I was so impressed, I painted over it.

Love these NEW

Great subject and they look very stately and majestic.

Last time I was in Florida I took lots of pics of a single bloom as I thought it would look stunning on it's own against a dark back ground ... but I rather like the way you have painted them with the leaves too.

Love it.

Best wishes for Christmas and happy painting in 2014!
