Konyak are one of the Naga tribes of Nagaland. One of the North Eastern states of India. They are uniquely distinguishable by their pierced ears, tattoos on faces, hands, chest, arms, and calves.
This painting is really as unique as the tribe itself. I have painted this with purely acrylic colors and water as the only medium for it.
I have applied a layer of gesso above the pre-primed canvas for additional prominent brush strokes. Acrylic was not my favorite medium. But nowadays I paint most of my paintings with acrylics only.
I love fast results, and acrylics give me just that.
