I am a self taught artist and find that painting with acrylic paint is very addictive. Especially when you started a new piece, you just want to continue until is completed. The biggest challenge I faced is when painting the Milkmaid's chest. I have to play with the light in order to show that her chest is not completely flat.

Hi. I haven't learned yet to appreciate Vermeer, but when I saw your portrait thought, "now here's a beautiful Vermeer painting."

I was recently reading about his ability to bring his subject forward beautifully and I see you have done that.

I like it--and in acrylics too. Isn't the original oil? So it was probably harder to do in acrylic. Nice job :)
