(Sunrise, Florida)
While on a semester break in college, I had the opportunity to spend a few days at the dock house my future father-in-law had hand built in the water’s edge of Lake Francis near Lake Placid, Florida. This place was a serene change from pressure of college. Over the years I realized that this place truly inspired me to do nothing.
This was one of my earliest paintings and the first one done with only memories for reference. I was 68 years old when I painted this. My wife and I are now 86 years old and will celebrate our 60th anniversary this June. I still remember how peaceful my time was at the lake.
