Comes The Sun

Comes The Sun

Comes The Sun

My second attempt at painting in 23 years, acrylic on birch.

This is much smaller than Slow Train Coming - it was from a photo.

Seems after 23 years of not painting I have a greater appreciation of nature than I did when I was younger, and more into abstract and surrealism.

I really like the way I pulled natural sunlight into this from between the trees. Got to love that sunshine - it makes things grow.

Composition NEW

Good effort, however, as an art teacher I can see a rather glaring mistake. The dark furrow and tree trunk in the centre of the painting lead the viewers eye right off the top of the canvas. You need to have your composition draw the eye around the painting.

I like your painting. It certainly captures the Sun thru' the trees. Nice one.
