Abalone Shell

Mother Of Pearl

Mother Of Pearl

This painting is not realistic when it comes to colour, but the shapes and lines are.

Some lines are almost like layers in rocks or the inside of gemstones. The black areas are actually a deep purple. I didn't copy the photo slavishly but approached it as an abstract piece.

These are my favourite colours. I could play with different textures and organic lines.

Loved working on it.

Is it finished or should I add more white lines?

Maybe just a few more tiny lines in the bottom right corner to highlight the light and planes. Other than that, it is beautiful and perfect! I love it!
